That’s right! It is almost time for our next WFA Grand Slam of the year, The Big Match. Following on from the amazing Flairmania where our current WFA Grand Slam Champion Deniss Trifanovs took the top spot, the Barstylez Big Match World Bartender Championship certainly takes the top spot amongst the WFA Grand Slams for the longest name! Although it is not just the name that is long 😉 So is the weekend with loads of great things going on. As well as the WFA Grand Slam, there will also be the annual Barstylez Asia Cocktail Championship, guest bartending and more!
The second WFA Grand Slam of the year already has an all-star cast confirmed as competing. You can see them all below, but some of the big names include four previous WFA Grand Slam Champions in Alexander Shtifanov (@alexandershtifanov), Deniss Trifanovs (@denisstrifanovs), Luca Valentin (@lucavalentin) and Marek Posluszny (@marasboston).
First place will take home a tasty $2500 USD, as well as a famous ‘The Big Match’ trophy, and the coveted WFA Black Grade. Second and third will also be awarded WFA Black Grade, with fourth, fifth and sixth acquiring the WFA Purple Grade. As it is a WFA Grand Slam event, that means a rare opportunity to get yourself some WFA Grand Slam points too – which count towards this years championship…
When is it happening?
Now in its 7th edition, The Big Match is often coined as the flair competition where the best in Asia meet the rest of the world. It will all be taking place on the 10-12th of May at the Singapore Cocktail Festival Village, Empress Lawn. For more details on the event you can check out our listing here.

- Day 2: 11th May 2019: International Flair Qualifier (1600pm – 2230pm)
- Day 3: 12th May 2019: International Flair Final (1830pm – 2230pm)
