Introducing the WFA’s newest Grand Slam: Fabbri Flairsupply, Hungary

As you will have seen in our latest WFA Grand Slam roundup, this year’s competition is too close to call; every Grand Slam competition remaining will be strongly contended, you can bet on that! And just to make things even more exciting we have added in another WFA Grand Slam event to the calendar – Fabbri Flairsupply in Hungary!

Flairsupply will be the first event WFA Grand Slam flair competition in Hungary and we can’t wait! With Grand Slams taking place across many other countries in Europe including the UK, Latvia, Italy and Finland, it is great to see Hungary added to that list. Already 37 out of 40 total competitors have signed up for Flairsupply in Hungary. Japan are bringing a good team of 4 competitors including the world’s current best female flair bartender and winner of Chicks with Flicks, Ayako Kumashiro, as are Russia and Italy. Aside from our current leader, Marek, the following top 5 have all confirmed as competing in this penultimate WFA Grand Slam of 2017 – anything could happen as the standings are so close!

After 5 WFA Grand Slam events, with 2 to go, here is how the current standings look:

Fabbri Flairsupply, Hungary

Organised by FlairVenture and taking place at the Symbol Budapest Club, one of the leading events venues in the capital city, Flairsupply is almost here. The registration deadline for this WFA Grand Slam is the 31st of October, however at the time of writing this article there are only 3 places left! As with all WFA Grand Slams, Flairsupply will be ensuring the best levels of competition and service throughout the event, all competitors will be looked after from arrival at the airport and a small dinner will be held for all competitors, judges and VIPs at a restaurant in Budapest the night before the competition. There will even be a chance to receive masterclasses from a renowned pastry chef currently working in a Michelin Star Restaurant!

 

 

There will be up to €7000 total prize money up for grabs with a special female flair bartender prize fund of over €1000. All competitors will have 4 minutes in the qualification rounds and 6 minutes in the final round, there will also be two special prizes. One for the best cocktail and one for the best Hungarian competitor. Including international judges Tom Dyer, Timppa Nyyssönen, and a surprise judge from the USA, up to 40 competitors, live coverage from CocktailsForYou (including interviews and routine highlights), and an after party with some of Hungary’s best DJ’s.
