Next: The Roadhouse World Open

Each and every month from January through to November the Roadhouse in Covent Garden, London, plays host to a myriad of flair bartending competitions. Known as the Roadhouse Heats, one is held each month and the top three from each competition will gain a place in the highly prestigious Roadhouse Grand Final in November and a chance to win the £10,000 Grand Final prize pot.

The style of the heats change every year, with 2019 being the first year to feature three of the ‘World Open’ Roadhouse heats. This was to ensure that the Roadhouse Heats can cater for an ever growing global competitor base. Other Roadhouse Heats to come include the famous Battle Competition, Bottle Tin is King and Chicks with Flicks. Part of the reason why the Roadhouse World Finals is one of the best and most exciting flair competitions in the world is down to the diverse selection of bartenders that appear in the finals due to the differences in style of each Roadhouse Heat. From Freestyle masters to Bottle Tin extraordinaires, the Roadhouse Grand Finals has it all.

The first World Open of the year is coming up in just over a week on Sunday the 24th of March, kicking off at The Roadhouse at 6 PM. As with all the Roadhouse heats there will be a total of £1250 of prize money up for grabs as well as one of the coveted Roadhouse Glass Globe trophies. The Top 6 from the heat will battle it out for the top three places and some cash, starting at 10:30 PM. There will be plenty else going on at The Roadhouse that evening including a bottle speed opening competition and an after party going on until 3 AM.

All 30 places for this month’s Roadhouse World Open were snapped up very quickly – you can see the full list of confirmed competitors here – you can expect to see the likes of WFA Black Grade Roman Zapata, last month’s Freestyle Roadhouse Heat winner Michael Moreni, WFA Orange Grade Mathias Loqvist and many, many more… One thing is for certain, this competition will go down to the wire!
